I am opposed to HB1002 because our cities and towns should be free to choose whether to provide tax abatements for solar systems. The state should not mandate policy on this issue. Further, small-scale (homeowner) solar pollutes less than electricity from coal, oil, and gas provides low cost energy to the grid, reducing the electric rates for all consumers.
