I do not believe our cities and towns should be required to cover the costs of local police officers training or assisting federal ICE agents. Those costs should be covered by the federal government and/or our county commissioners and city and town councils should have the power to learn how many tax dollars these programs cost and to either agree to or refuse to pay for these agreements. We all vote on our town budgets annually and these large unexpected expenses would cause undue strain on the taxpayers.
