I support this proposed amendment to the NH Constitution, as I believe marriage to be a fundamental right for all persons, no matter whom they choose to marry. Marriage is a legal designation, and I do not believe it should be restrictive in it's application. Marriage has little to do with sex, gender or even love, on paper. It merely classifies two people as in a legally binding relationship, recognized by the state, and to these people some privilege and some responsibility is bestowed by the state. Why this right should be limited to people who identify as heterosexual makes no sense to me. Why it should be denied to those who identify as anything but heterosexual, is unjust. Please vote to support this proposed amendment to the NH Constitution to ensure all Granite Staters have access to the possibility of marrying a person they love.
