Kathleen Doucette

I am the Vice President of the Wilmot Community Association, a local nonprofit that enriches community life through social, recreational, and educational programs. Our programs rely on modest municipal funding to remain free or low-cost so they are accessible to all residents, including families and seniors on fixed incomes. Restricting municipal support to nonprofits like ours would directly harm community connection, volunteer engagement, and public well-being. I respectfully urge the committee to oppose HB 1649 in its’ current format and amend HB 1649 so towns can continue working with proven, accountable nonprofits while maintaining clear standards for responsible use of public funds.
