Repealing the Business Enterprise Tax is an exercise in irresponsible legislation. The burden from the repeal of this revenue would befall property tax payers who are already struggling to afford their homes. This revenue is important to towns and school districts and should not be cut to make way for school voucher programs. Our children deserve great education that is possible because businesses and corporations that pay their share. With no real relief available for homeowners who really need it and the state facing a $60 billion deficit, this legislation is morally and fiscally irresponsible.
