Just weeks ago the full House rejected HB 675, a bill that proposed to impose budget caps on school districts. New Hampshire values local control and individual communities want to say what budget is right for their school and town needs. This amendment is non germane to the bill it is attached to and attempts to impose the same rigid budget cap that has already been rejected by the House, and by voters on town ballots across the state. Real property tax relief will happen when the legislature finds a way to increase public school adequacy aid in accordance with the ConVal court ruling.
