Maureen Anderson

I am a Concord resident and solar owner. Last Summer I partnered with the Hillsborough Area Renewable Energy Initiative (HAREI) to help me install my own solar array. I hosted a community "Solar Raiser" event to install 30 solar panels on my roof at 126 Penacook St. This system reduces my property's electricity consumption while providing solar-generated power back to the grid, benefiting both my neighbors and Unitil. I am writing to urge you to oppose HB1002, which would repeal New Hampshire’s solar property tax exemption statute. This law currently allows municipalities the option to exempt residential solar systems from property taxes. Many communities rely on this statute to support local clean energy, household affordability, and local control. Repealing this law would discourage solar investment and strip decision-making authority from our towns and cities. Please reject HB1002 and preserve local choice. Thank you for your consideration
