It makes sense to require the secretary of state to accept voter registration forms directly from voters and to create an online portal for direct voter registration. This would save time, reduce errors, and ease pressure on Election Day. Providing voters with a secure, modern option to register on their own schedule makes life easier for voters and election officials. Many times, I’ve worked late or had unexpected occurrences arise that have impeded me getting to town offices and the like, and having the opportunity to use modern online methods - which are now available for secure government, banking and other functions - would be a vast improvement to our current in-person only methodology.
