Parents in New Hampshire should not need to choose between their child/children and their job. Babies don’t give a 15 days notice to be sick. Parents should prioritize their child(s)’s health if they’re sick or their own/a partner’s postpartum care instead of forcing themself to work because their employer would be allowed to fire them. The government should prioritize the care of families and people in New Hampshire first, not a business that will fire parents for caring for their child/children. The Momnibus 2.0, a bill that gave mothers more availability to care for themselves after pregnancy and their children if they work, was signed last year. Signing HB1250 is an attempt to work around that and should not be signed into law.
