Please vote down HB1002 to appeal the solar tax waiver. Solar power is becoming the more affordable option for electrifying our homes as well as the technology we all need to adopt to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make our world a cleaner place to live. When someone replaces their hot water tank, refrigerator, or gas furnace their property tax does not increase. Solar provides local electricity - it is not a major home renovation, it is an energy source. The only difference is that it is often visible from the outside of the house. Thank you for your vote to encourage, not discourage, solar and to recognize it for all its benefits to the home owner and the community to clean up our energy sources and allow for more local control.
