I strongly oppose HB 1635. This issue is not political to me — it is personal. My daughter lost her uncle to suicide. He was only 20 years old. Our family will live with that loss forever. Rolling back suicide prevention training in schools sends the wrong message at a time when young people are struggling more than ever. Teachers and school staff are often the first adults to notice warning signs. Removing required training hours and delaying education puts lives at risk. Suicide is not theoretical. It is real. It is permanent. And it is devastating. We should be strengthening mental health education in our schools — not weakening it. Please vote NO on HB 1635 and protect the mental health and lives of our children.
