Honorable Chair and Committee Members, I write in support of HB 1799. A fact of property tag-paying life in New Hampshire is that we have a regressive, unfair, and increasingly burdensome mechanism for funding public education. It is unsustainable and detrimental to the well-being of our state. I ask you to vote OTP on HB 1799 to study and recommend a state funding mechanism that upholds the findings by our State Supreme Court and does not rely on property taxes.
