I strongly oppose this bill. It does not adequately provide long term funding for the maintenance of New Hampshire dams. It targets a small portion of the population when it also effects so many others are not living directly on the waterfront. The homeowners along the tributaries that flow into New Hampshire lakes are just as much effected. I understand the importance of the intent of this bill. Lawmakers should continue to work on a solution that provides long term funding support for Dam maintenance. The financial burden should not fall solely on those with waterfront property, leaving the door open for future legislative increases when so much more of the public is effected. Please reconsider this bill and continue to work on a more fair long term solution.
