The state government has failed to adequately fund public education for decades while continuing to add to the ever-increasing list of unfunded mandates and regulations, many of which seem meant to bring further stress on an already overtaxed system. It is as if the majority leadership in Concord is hoping to break public education. In a time when school boards across the state are having to decide which core positions to cut due to the broken tax system of NH, adding yet another unfunded mandate would seem unthinkable, but that chain of reasoning assumes that they are trying to support a healthy and successful education system, which it would seem they are not.
