Dear members of the STE, Please Oppose HB 1002: repealing the Solar Energy Tax Systems Exemption. Part of the “New Hampshire advantage” is our stalwart support of LOCAL CONTROL. Each town and city should decide what is best for its residents. Please do NOT take away this choice away from communities, do NOT penalize residents who invested in solar in good faith under existing rules. If this law is repealed, homeowners with solar panels might face higher property taxes, In my town of Merrimack, my property taxes have gone up a thousand dollars a year for the past 2 years! Please do not subject residents to higher property taxes. Rep. Notter – According to the list of homes in Merrimack with solar panels, you yourself have solar panels. Do YOU want to pay higher property taxes?
