As a domestic violence survivor myself, there is a great deal of fear and shame associated with coming forward and accusing your abuser especially if your abuser is a person within a position of power. I hold deep regrets about not coming forward knowing he was going to eventually continue this pattern of behavior. I applaud those who are strong enough, who are brave enough, to speak out against their abuser and implementing this bill will only shame those still trying to find the courage to hold abusers accountable for their behavior.
