Brit Bell | Oppose HB1803

I am a single parent with a single income raising a child in Manchester. I work two jobs, both in healthcare. My child is 15 and my taxes have contributed to the Manchester public school system for the past 16 yrs. My child has never attended a Manchester public school. This was a choice I was able to make because of the ETC and the EFA and which without these programs would not have the financial means to continue. Our public school system is broken. My child has an ISP allowing for individualized attention in areas he struggles academically. He has been provided that individualized assistance in ways a public school just does not have the resources for. The right to choose should not only be associated with reproductive rights. Those same children being fought over in reproductive discussions deserve the right to choose an educational path which not only matches their unique learning needs but more importantly, helps fulfill future goals and in turn become productive and beneficial members of society. Don’t take away the tools needed by parents like myself. Without access to both the ETC and EFA my child along with thousands of other NH children would lose their educational choice. Say NO to this bill.
