Under existing NH law, criminal history record checks are required for people applying for educator preparation or professional credentials. Teachers and administrators have to submit to these checks as part of licensure, and schools also commonly do background checks for employment and volunteer roles. This bill is just another way to make qualified persons eliminated for something that might have happened years ago.
