As a recent UNH graduate and current UNH staff member I am fearful of a school shooting. I believe staff, students, and faculty would feel unsafe on campuses. I believe guns on campus could introduce issues of threatened violence, hate crimes, and forceful manipulation. I worry that allowing students to carry guns, even if it does not result in violent action, may negatively affect enrollment at UNH and our #2 in the country safest campus status. I believe guns should not be allowed on campus except for use by trained professionals (campus police, state researchers, law enforcement). Therefore I do not support the removal of campus gun regulations.
