This bill makes it much riskier for students, faculty and staff to safely exist on campus. My daughters attended Pelham Public schools and had multiple instances of potential shootings - students who brought firearms to school and threatened teachers and other students - who were peacefully prevented from committing atrocities because schools and local police had the ability to monitor and remove guns from the buildings. You cannot have any idea what a relief it is as a parent to know that there are policies in place to prevent atrocities from occurring. My daughter and I both attend UNH. My husband will teach there in the Fall. Please help keep my family safe by allowing the schools to continue monitoring and preventing gun violence so we don’t have to mourn any more needless deaths due to mental problems.
