My father was murdered on June 1, 1988 at our family home in Hampton. I strongly oppose this bill. How can anyone say it is a deterrent since my father is gone, taken away back when we had the death penalty?I believe the death penalty is soft on crime because it is done so quickly that the murderer only suffers a split second. I want them to live a very long life suffering behind bars.
