I strongly support HB 1393. Expanding the definition of “public servant” to include federal officials acting on New Hampshire matters closes a critical accountability gap. Intentionally interfering with an election is a direct attack on democratic governance and must be met with serious criminal consequences. Elevating this conduct to a Class B felony is appropriate, though I believe even stronger penalties could be justified. Protecting the integrity of elections must be absolute and non-negotiable.
