I oppose HB 1793. College campuses are places for learning, debate, and discovery—not armed standoffs. Allowing firearms and other weapons on campus increases risk, not safety, and undermines the ability of colleges to manage their own security in coordination with trained municipal police. The danger of more weapons in crowded academic settings far outweighs any speculative benefit.
