I am a public school nurse who assesses a treats hundreds of school aged children every year, with a 15+ year background in Emergency Medicine. There are enough communicable diseases, and highly contagious viruses spreading through the pediatric population on a regular basis without adding in diseases that have been eradicated for 60+ years. Vaccinations are REAL. Science is REAL, and unfortunately it will be the ignorant, uneducated individuals out there that choose to not vaccinate themselves, or their children, that cause these diseases to reappear and spread. Perhaps you could take some time to ask yourselves WHY you are choosing to reverse, dismantle, and undo all of the scientific advancements that have been made over the years. Is it because you are listening to other uneducated individuals in stead of making your own choice? Is it because you are misinformed and choose to read internet articles that are false and misleading, and backed by absolutely no scientific evidence? Is it because your child is "healthy" and "doesn't need vaccinations." News flash, that's not how this works. Even the healthiest of children can get sick, resulting in death, or serious, permanent injury. Have you heard of Polio? Do you even know what it is? It will be our generation that causes the return of these dangerous and contagious, diseases. When it happens, and you lose a child, loved one, or friend, I hope you ask yourself if it was worth it. If making this stand, and defying science was worth it. I will continue to vaccinate myself, and my children, so at least I know my loved ones will be protected from people like you who are willing to risk the livelihood of your innocent children. I hope one day they grow up to learn from your mistakes, and make their own educated choices that support science and our future.
