To the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee: I am writing to state my firm opposition to HB 1413, HB 1749, HB 1737, and HB 1730. Reinstating the death penalty is not about justice; it is a dangerous expansion of state power and a step toward a fascist carceral regime. As a resident of the New England region, I believe our values are rooted in human dignity and civil liberties - not the state-sanctioned power to kill. New Hampshire’s 2019 repeal was a victory for our entire region. I urge the Committee to protect our New England firewall and vote 'Inexpedient to Legislate' (ITL) on all bills aimed at resurrecting capital punishment. Respectfully, Abigail
