Dear Members of the New Hampshire Legislature, I am writing in support of HB 1584, which would require the New Hampshire Department of Health to include the statement, “Medical and religious exemptions are available under New Hampshire law,” in any communication or notice promoting vaccination. Informed consent should be the basis behind all of our decisions, medical ones especially. Full transparency and disclosures about patients rights under NH law is crucial to informed consent and preserving trust in our public health services. HB 1584 does not discourage vaccination, but rather strengthens confidence in public health efforts by showing that New Hampshire values transparency and personal autonomy. I respectfully urge you to support HB 1584 and help ensure that our state continues to set an example of integrity and transparency in public policy.
