Hello- I. missed the hearings today on STR so I am submitting on this HB in the hopes my concerns can still be heard. Our family bought a small ski condo in Linconln NH and rent it during the summer. I work as a counselor in a public school and my husband is a contractor. We are not rich. We have been able to purchase this through sweat equity and hard work. We can't afford to keep this condo if we have to pay double taxes and other fees. The rents through Airbnb only help offset the cost. Additionally, this type of housing was built as a condo-tel This would never have been "local housing" as long term tenants are discouraged. The market is already slowing with prices dropping 20%+ price. If ownership costs go up, more will go on the market only further saturating the marketing. With fewer STR, fewer people can visit a tourist spots like Lincoln NH, and then business goes down, and job opportunities decline. I understand the need for balance but the market can often correct itself. Our STR rentals are down 35% but we didn't. buy it to rent, we bought it to enjoy as a family and rent to off-set our costs. Please consider all angles before creating a blanket cost for all STR. Thank you! ~Kyle
