I believe that changing the wording of RSA 141 – C: 20 – A to exclude hepatitis B vaccination should not be recommended or passed. There is conversation between providers and parents as to what makes the most sense for their childrje when it comes to all vaccinations, including Hep B. The state does not need to amend this wording to exclude Hep B. If there is a danger to the child, or the parents have an objection to the vaccination for any reason, they have options to opt out of this. Hepatitis B is an infectious and potentially serious disease that can cause liver damage and liver cancer. There is no cure for hepatitis B. It seems irresponsible to remove hepatitis B from our list of vaccines required for children in New Hampshire, for a disease that has no cure and can cause serious illness. Please consider opposing this bill and not allowing it to pass or move forward.
