I support this bill to ensure that landowners affected by the removal of beaver dams have the opportunity to be notified. Removal of beaver dams can have unintended consequences for upstream landowners and the public. Having served on a Conservation Commission for many years, I also understand the significant impact removing beaver dams can have on the surrounding environment. I support this bill because, in non-emergency situations, it is important that all stakeholders have a chance to comment on the impact of dam removal.
