This bill would severely restrict the rights of homeowners to choose the type of home they want to live in. As a retiree who has lived in NH for the past 54 years, I have seen the cost of housing skyrocket preventing many taxpayers from owning a home. My husband and I live in a resident owned community which enables us to afford to remain in the extremely expensive seacoast region. After downsizing for retirement, we sought a single-story home that is easy to maintain, affordable to heat, offers privacy and a predictable/affordable cost. We love living in our manufactured home. We even have a private yard where we can play with our dogs. We are able to walk to downtown or nature trails right from our doorstep. In the “Live Free or Die” state I am appalled that someone is trying to dictate what type of home we can choose. Our state should be investigating more available options to address the drastic housing shortage, not restricting taxpayers’ right to choose from among very few affordable ways to live in New Hampshire.
