NCES has been a nightmare for the town of Bethlehem over the last forty years environmentally, politically, and socially. NCES sits next to the Ammonoosuc River and on top of a stratified drift aquifer. It mars the views of and from the surrounding White Mountains as well as peoples homes.. Thank you for your support. HB 1622 seeks only three bits of information for each open or closed land fill: its name and address, the acreage of the tract, and its setback distance to the nearest home, airport, or water body (all of which might render a site unsuitable for expansion due to state or federal setback requirements. This bill will help find the best place to expand or if need be develop a new landfill.
