Having worked in the prison system and, for a time, directly with sexual offenders, primarily pedophiles, I can tell you that this is a useless bill. The death sentence is not a deterrent, as you know if you have done your research and it is pitiful as revenge. Revenge does nothing for the victim although it may vicariously please others. Our system of justice has done little to prevent sexual abuse as it has historically refused to take victims seriously in the first place and, in the end, they remain victims. --think about how we are letting the offenders at YDC off---and I know some of that abuse was reported AT THE TIME it happened with no response from those in power. What needs to be done is prevention and intervention, But there are those who would rather allow the suffering and then pretend to care while simply getting off on revenge dopamine.
