If you have done your research, you will know that the death penalty is not a deterrent. It is revenge only. Our justice system should never be about revenge. It can also kill innocent people as demonstrated by the number set free after years with DNA and other evidence, the court is fallible. We have killed innocent people. If you are primarily concerned with cost, it is tremendously costly to, eventually, execute someone. Much more costly than life incarceration or preventive measures.
