My name is Karen Bemis and I live and vote in Bristol, and recreate in beautiful Newfound Lake. I SUPPORT this bill because prohibiting the sale of neonicotinoids limits leaching from treated seeds into soil, then moving into groundwater and surface runoff water that flows into our important resources: our lakes and rivers. Did you know that in the water, they can disrupt the aquatic food web, reducing zooplankton and insects that help control algae, reducing the risks of favorable conditions for cyanobacteria blooms? Limiting their use protects our lakes, water quality, and recreation - a reliable source of business revenue.
