We chose to end the death penalty years ago and it is still wrong! Innocent people have been put to death, and guilty ones sometimes come to regret what they did and work from within the prison to teach others. And just before the only person we have on death row - which costs so much that it would blow the prison budget - was sentenced to death shortly after a judge sentenced a man who hired someone to kill someone else, I forget the circumstances, but he was sentenced only to prison. He was white and wealthy. The one on death row was black and poor. Both were criminals.
