As a parent and a physician (pediatrician and internist) with a Master's in public health, I STRONGLY oppose this bill. Vaccination is the most effective public health intervention available, ranking second only to clean water for disease prevention. Prohibiting all state agencies from advertising or educating the public about vaccines is akin to shooting ourselves in the foot. Why wouldn't we want to educate New Hampshirite's on how to remain healthy? Treating diseases is much more expensive than preventing them, and outbreaks are very disruptive to the lives of voters/constituents. In addition, this bill would potentially cost the state $3.5 million in federal funding. For both public health and fiscal reasons, please kill this bill !
