In conjunction with HB 1810, runoff from improperly stored road salts and de-icing chemicals can harm drinking water sources, lakes, and aquatic ecosystems, including creating conditions that favor harmful cyanobacteria blooms. Regulations for safe storage, with stricter requirements to protect groundwater and surface waters, to be managed by NH DES, is a must in protecting both water quality and public health. Thank you.
