As a long-time resident and home owner in the State of NH I strongly oppose this bill. My family currently owns a couple properties that this would bill impact our renters. Why does this bill not make sense? 1.. It will cause an increase in rental prices to make up for the additional tax burden, further increasing the cost of living to those who rent in NH. These additional costs will be passed on to those folks. 2. Lastly, why would we not limit this tax to those who are NOT permanent residents of NH yet own second homes in NH. For example, there are a lot of people who own second homes on Lake Winnipesaukee but are out of state residents. These are the people who should be taxed. This model trades out of state economic stimulation for NH resident tax payer dollars.
