I have had a house on Lake Wentworth in NH since 2009 and I have been coming to the area since 1982. I have seen a shocking change in the quality of the lake that has accelerated in the last 20 years, in particular. Cyanobacteria, has become ever present on our shore and this past summer, we could not enter the water for the equivalent of one month, due to the potential risks of swimming in water with a bloom. Unless serious and consistent mitigation efforts are put into place, NH lakes will no longer be a recreational resource. Lake Wentworth has seen an increase in moorings and temporary docks, particularly along Governor Wentworth HWY. As far as I understand, there is currently no application or fee for these.
