To the Honorable Ways and Means Committee Members, I am writing to express my opposition to HB 1068. My family owns a small vacation property in Sunapee, NH. We occasionally rent our home as a short or long-term rental to defray some expenses, but we also live in our Sunapee home for almost 6 months every year, so we are opposed to the redefining of a residential property as a "hotel," creating confusion and potential tax and financial challenges for individual homeowners. Thank you for your consideration of the property rights of individual homeowners. As the live free or die state, we choose to live in NH for all the reasons our state motto implies.
