Good afternoon my name is William Morrocco and i own a house in whitefield. Yes it is indeed my second residence. I do not support bills HB 1068 HB 1580 HB1707. These bills effectively are trying to make me a villain in the state of New Hampshire and charge me extra “taxes” has a punishment because I own a property in whitefield that was vacant for 2 years and in need of serious repairs. I am a firefighter in providence Rhode Island and go up to my house in whitefield at least twice a month and spend my money and time there supporting local businesses in Littleton and Whitefield also the surrounding areas. Yes I do short term rent my property when i don’t use it because it pays for the necessary repairs and upkeep, and also helps me cover the bills because I make a a normal blue-collar salary. In doing the short term rental, I recommend all sorts of local activities, restaurants, and attractions that people visiting my house utilize and thank me many times over for the recommendations also spending their hard earned money in the state. And because this house is short term rented, I have to use local business owners to help me maintain the property and condition so it is usable in the summer and winter time meaning I spend money on a local Landscaper for snow removal and cutting of the vegetation, I have a local house, cleaner, husband, and wife who own their own business and employs a couple of individuals that clean my property also on a regular basis. I also have a local heating expert who cleans my steam boiler and a local Handyman, who helps me with the repairs on the property that I can not do in a timely manner myself or are outside my expertise. I’ve also had to have a local carpenter replace the siding on my house. I get my heating oil from a local heating oil supplier in Bethlehem. I pay my municipal tax to the town whitefield every year and I also pay the 8.5% meals and rentals tax. My property supplies a lot of extra funds to the coffers of the state of New Hampshire. And this does not include the benefit. My property has had on families in New Hampshire who have had members of their family stay at my house to visit them for holidays and special occasions just like my house cleaners who have their family stay multiple times a year to visit them. To paint me has some villain that doesn’t contribute to the state and deserves extra taxes as a penalty is completely out of line and untruthful. I work hard like everyone else and making a normal salary like everyone else. I just so happen to have bought a property that was in dire need of repair, vacant for two years and most likely would’ve fallen out of the ability to even be repaired had I not purchased it.
