As a mother of a school aged child, I oppose this bill. Book bans benefit no one, and book bans go against the "Live Free Or Die" ideals of the state. If a parent disapproves of a book, it should be their responsibility to enforce their home rules. A school cannot provide an adequate education if they do not have access to books and other learning materials. Let the schools educate. If parents want certain values followed, fine. But schools need to provide opportunities for all children access to quality education, including a widenrange of books.
