New Hampshire should be trying to ban books or remove materials based on the complaint of a single parent. If a parent does not want their child to read a certain book, that is a conversation the parent should have with them so they can explain why. One person should not get to determine what other children should or should not be able to read. After all, this bill wouldn't allow one parent to unban that same or add back the material once it has been banned or removed, would it? If there are issues, they can be brought forward to the librarians and schools boards and worked on locally. We do not need a state driven process that ends with our libraries being bare because of the changing whims or beliefs of a single person, especially when we've seen cases where a single parent is often the only person responsible for trying to ban books.
