I am a former NCAA athlete and played a women's sport at a collegiate level. I had no fear of competing against a trans athlete, but like MOST athletes -- the opportunity didn't arise. This is legislation targeting a TINY percent of people in NH. There can be discussion about trans-athletes in professional sports where the stakes are higher. When it comes to youth sports -- LET THE KIDS PLAY. Sports are an outlet for many kids who could otherwise turn to less productive activities. I am a firm believer that being part of a team gives kids a sense of belonging and teaches them critical life skills. Every child deserves the opportunity to play a sport and benefit from it. There are no biological advantages between males and females until puberty. (Unfortunately, NH lawmakers have attacked puberty blockers and crucial medical care for trans youth, and that will result in the death of NH children, but I digress --) Kids deserve to be included in sports. Trans kids exist. Let the kids play and work it out amongst the team, organization, school, or community as to the fairness of a particular student or particular sport. This is government overreach and voting for this will HURT children in an ill-attempt to prevent a small handful of trans kids from playing (or existing). I urge you to vote AGAINST this bill.
