We should not ban books or remove classroom materials based on one parent’s complaint. Period. If a parent does not want their child to read a book, they should have the conversation with them and let them know why. But one parent does not get to determine what another parent’s kid can read. If there are issues, they can be brought forward to the librarians and schools boards and worked on locally. We do not need a state driven process that ends with our libraries being bare.
