Debora Hatcher

I am an independent voter, and urge you to vote NO on this bill. It is just one more partisan "culture war" bill designed to discriminate against transgender children. Children. You are discriminating against a small number of children and adults in our state who are struggling within our culture as it is. And you want to make life even harder for them. Based on some of the other laws the NH legislature has passed during this session I don't believe for a second that the sponsors and supporters of this bill are concerned about girls or women. They are just trying to harass and discriminate against transgender youth because of their own personal prejudices. For K-12 I do understand that some schools and parents struggle with how to balance the different needs of various students, and that transgender students might cause concern for some. But I feel strongly that these matters are better dealt with at the local level, without heavy handed interference from Concord elected officials whose personal beliefs may very well differ from the impacted community's views where most adults want to take care of children, accommodate them and prevent bullying of them. For institutions of higher education you seek to tell adults how to manage their affairs, again because you want to impose your own personal prejudices onto other citizens. This is a government overreach at it's worse. It is oppression. Please stop imposing your religious beliefs and prejudices on NH citizens. Please stop being cruel to children and young people. Vote no on this bill. Thank you.
