Book bans are anti-democratic, and deny free speech. Book bans hamper one's ability to be informed. One parent's complaint should not be allowed to deny every other child's right to access material. A simple call to a teacher or librarian stating that you don't want your child to take out a book or be present during the use of its instruction, has always happened and has worked fine. We should not be limiting an entire population's rights because of the few vocal detractors in our midst.
