There should NOT be bans on books! Librarians are trained professionals who serve the public. They understand what is age-appropriate, in both schools and public libraries. We have the ability to choose what we want to read, and what does not interest or relate to us as individuals. No special interest groups should limit our knowledge and curiosity. I would never think of limiting anyone to my taste in Art, Philosophy, or History. But I understand there are children and adults who have diverse interests or personal needs different than mine. I strongly oppose book bans.
