If every American has certain inalienable rights according to the U.S. Constitution and other laws, and transgender people are Americans, then transgender people have inalienable rights. This bill would restrict those rights. It furthermore gives trans people the impression they should not be their authentic selves, or even that they should not exist at all. Therefore, this bill runs counter to the letter and spirit of the law. It is small-minded and it should not be made into a law, especially not in a state enjoining its citizens to "live free or die."
