This bill would do very little to protect anyone, but would do a great deal of harm to some of our most vulnerable people. The data and science are clear. Studies show that anti-trans legislation leads to greater violence against trans youth, while doing nothing to decrease overall rates of sexual assault within the greater (primarily cisgender) population. So this legislation isn’t about helping anyone. It would simply harm the victims of the latest moral panic in our country. Our lawmakers can do better.
